A Trip to the Domin - ITF G3 BLOG

ree

Well what can I say about the G 3's. The competition was great and there was solid tennis. The conditions were hot but for the most part we managed. We were able to get a runner up on the boys doubles week 1 with Dylan and we did get two titles at the 14u COTECC circuit. The COTECC circuit is a circuit I sometimes toss my younger players in that are on extreme ITF event restrictions. Sofia is 13 and is only allowed ten events so I mixed in the lesser circuit where she won a doubles title and her second singles title in seven months. She lost just five games in five singles matches.

Back to the 18s Luca and Miles got their first grade 3 main draw wins on the guys side and Meghan got her first on the girls side.

Niko also qualified into his first main draw at an itf. On a sad note we had a player get dumped last second by a doubles partner who reached out to us.

It was at the instruction of once again a Guatemalan coach who has the integrity of his brother who recently finished a suspension for admitted match fixing.

A shame kids actually look up to them while most of us international coaches think they are over paid circus clowns.

Our accommodations were in the colonial zone so we had alot of good restaurants to chose from.

My meal of the week was the spiced goat with pumpkin rissoto while the players gave the lasagna at the marina ten out of 10.

Looking forward to Nicaragua in a week where we should have four of the girls eight seeds and three on the guys side. Shooting for titles!!!!!!
