What a great two weeks despite several rain delays!!! We captured four titles and five runner ups. Two finals saw our group members against ourselves. For the first time ever I had a player make a clean sweep of all four titles. Reese only dropped one set in two weeks capturing both doubles and singles title. Her journey to the US Open 2023 junior event started here. Having a 13 year old make her first ITF final was great and two players got their first points.

Off of the court we went to see an Masaya Volcano which is very much active and the oldest town in the hemisphere in Granada. It is great to experience some culture outside of the courts as a group. Speaking of culture, It was also great to be at an event in Latin America where the Guatemalan Federation was not.

We did not' have to deal with their normal lack of respect for tennis or not understanding social norms, such as having federation coaches attempting to add underage players on social media or federation adults inviting 15 year olds to nightclubs.

The meals of the trip were the sea bass from Azul or the chicken gorgonzola from Pan E Vino. The dessert of the trip goes to the snickers cake from casa del cafe. We are looking forward to Panama and getting on the red dirt in a couple of weeks........... amazingly run events and a great city !!!
